Hi, I'm Erin.
To me, a design — a website, an app, a brand — is a puzzle. My job is figuring out where every piece belongs so the whole thing finally clicks. I've spent years doing that across web, digital, print, and illustration, but the work has always been the same underneath: finding the creative way through the problem.
I'm at my best in the messy, what‑if stage — brainstorming, connecting ideas across disciplines, and noticing the friction other people have stopped seeing. A branding challenge often turns up a messaging problem; a redesign often hides a workflow one. I find the real problem first, then solve it.
And when a problem earns my attention, I go all in — the kind of deep focus where I lose track of time and come out the other side with it basically solved. That mix of fast ideation and deep focus is where my best work comes from.
"Erin is a rare art director in that she understands design and visual theory, but is also extremely capable in her ability to create abstract concepts that are compelling, creative and often funny." – S.W.
How I work now
Technology, trends, and tools keep changing; the need for thoughtful problem‑solving doesn't. I use AI to speed up research, explore possibilities, and challenge assumptions — but every recommendation is filtered through experience and judgment. AI helps me find the insight faster; knowing what actually matters is the part that's hard to replicate.
Beyond design
I'm a former stand‑up comedian, a lifelong illustrator, and a maker who's happiest with a new problem in front of me. I also create beach‑inspired art from sea glass and found objects under Jersey Gull Designs. The through‑line is the same everywhere: curiosity first.
Available for remote roles & freelance. If you're looking for someone who brings experience, curiosity, and a collaborative approach to creative problems, I'd love to connect.
